The ACT Bar Association and ACT Law Society request the pleasure of your company at a farewell dinner to welcome the appointment of Chief Justice Lucy McCallum to the ACT.
Chief Justice McCallum is a former prosecutor in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2005. She had a broad and extensive practice that included defamation, administrative law, competition law, and professional negligence. She became a judge of the NSW Supreme Court in 2008, in the Common Law Division, and in 2014 became the list judge for the Defamation list. Her Honour has presided over hundreds of high profile criminal and civil proceedings, first as a barrister and then as a Judge, garnering a reputation for scrupulous fairness. In January 2019, Justice McCallum was elevated to the New South Wales Court of Appeal. In March 2022 Her Honour was appointed Chief Justice of the ACT Supreme Court. Details
