In order to practise law in the Australian Capital Territory, barristers must be admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory or another Australian state or territory under a corresponding law.

In the Australian Capital Territory (the ACT), there are two types of legal practitioners: solicitors and barristers. Barristers are legal practitioners whose principal work involves presenting cases in court and other formal hearings such as tribunals.
