The Australian Capital Territory Bar Association

The Australian Capital Territory Bar Association was established in 1964. It represents and provides professional services, support and benefits to independent barristers at the private bar and its members. The objects of the Association are:

• To promote the administration of justice;
• To promote the Rule of Law in the Australian Capital Territory;
• To promote, maintain and improve the interests and standards of Practising Barristers in the Australian Capital Territory;
• To maintain in the public interest a strong and independent Bar in the Australian Capital Territory.
